Car by Car Wash Postponed

One of the drawbacks of being a New England resident is the weather. Due to the rain that has already started and is expected to continue into the weekend, the Car by Car Wash scheduled for this coming Saturday will be postponed. Team FRESH Community Health Award

Mayor Robert Correia and the Healthy Youth Task Force are pleased to announce that Team FRESH (Fall River Extends Supportive Hands) youth leadership group has been awarded on behalf of Commissioner John Auerbach and the Department of Public Health the Outstanding Contribution to Local Community Health Award at the Department of Public Health's Annual Ounce of Prevention Conference. The conference took place this Tuesday, October 6 , 2009  at the Best Western Plaza Hotel in Marlboro, Massachusetts with over 400 conference participants in attendance.

CD REC's Intro. to Babysitting Class

Community Development Recreation is offering an Introduction to Babysitting Class for youth in grades 9-12.  Classes will be held at CD REC at 72 Bank Street on Mondays from 5:15pm - 6:15pm starting October 19 and run until December 7, 2009.  Youth will learn everything they need to know in order to start babysitting, along with healthy meal preparation and CPR and First Aid Training.  The fee will be  $20.  Register at CD REC at 72 Bank Street.  Space i

The Peace By Piece Car By Car Wash

Before the winter begins and your car is covered in snow and salt, maybe you should wash all the pollen and dust off. But, who wants to do all that work? Why not have your car washed for you? The United Neighbors Community Paternship Violence Prevention Task Force will be having a car wash to raise funds for the Peace by Piece Summit. The car wash will take place on Saturday, October 17 10am - 2pm at AutoZone, 355 Rhode Island Avenue in Fall River.

Heritage Harvest Festival

Looking to do something fun this weekend and enjoy the beautiful fall weather? This weekend Heritage State Park is celebrating their 25th anniversary. The Friends of Heritage State Park will be kicking off the celebration with the 6th annual Harvest Festival. The event begins Saturday, October 3 at 10am until 8pm. The event will continue on Sunday from 11am until 6pm. There will be a wide variety of events, from live music to arts and crafts.
