Second Annual High Five School Attendance Event: 9/6/17

Attendance matters for success, both in school and in life. When a student is absent from school, he/she misses opportunities to learn and succeed.  Everyone in the community can play a role in ensuring that every student attends school, every day.  With that in mind, the Mayor/Superintendent’s Attendance Task Force is once again calling upon you and your colleagues to help launch the upcoming school year by demonstrating to our students and their families that attendance really does matter.
You are cordially invited to join hundreds of community members on Wednesday, September 6, rain or shine, as we form long gauntlets outside of each Fall River elementary and community school, High Fiving students as they begin this their first day of the new school year.  As was the case last year, we again envision gauntlets that will include firefighters, police officers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, bankers, business owners and workers, elected officials, neighborhood residents and more, many dressed in work garb, all welcoming students back to school while celebrating the importance of good attendance.
To participate, please RSVP no later than Friday, August 25, to Christian McCloskey at letting us know…
